Great little place. Checking in at the bar was easy, and the gentleman who assisted us was very polite. The room was small but perfect for a one-night stay. The bathroom was well-designed with a toilet, shower, and sink. The restaurant provided a pleasant experience, featuring a well in the center. The food was delicious, well-priced, and the service was impressive. The young woman handling both the bar and table service did an excellent job on her own. It's an ideal location, just 6 minutes from town and the hospitals. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

We were staying at the establishment next door but after checking found their menu more interesting and the dining room much more relaxing. Had a delicious evening dinner so came back for breakfast, which was also good value in a nicer dining room. Don’t be put off by the old grey facade at the road junction end of the building. The building is newly renovated and entrance is at the opposite end of the carpark. Didn’t stay there but will next time, the rooms look really good! An interesting feature is the old well in the centre of the bar area floor) glass covered and spotlighted

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The roadside location is not ideal and it did make for a noisy night but the interior was fabulous. We had two rooms for my family of four. One room was a lovely size but the other was very small (it was only somewhere to sleep for one night so it was ok). The rooms were both impeccably clean, soft fluffy white towels, lovely hot shower and a comfy (yet small) bed. Dinner was lovely - a good choice and huge portions. Breakfast was good too. The staff were friendly and welcoming and we all fell in love with Trevor the dog.

I stayed for two nights last weekend at Cannards Well whilst doing an Antiques Fair at the Bath and West Showground. I found the hotel excellent value for money. There was a warm welcome from the moment I arrived. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. I was on the top floor which had clearly been refurbished recently. The bathroom looked new and the supply of hot water was excellent at all hours. The best till last, the breakfast was both plentiful and good quality. All in all, I will have no hesitation in staying there next fair. Thanks Jim and staff.

Food was absolutely beautiful. Plenty to choose from, cooked by the very lovely Andy, who was very passionate about his food. Service was fabulous and Heather was a great host. The interior was clean and modern and inviting with the added bonus of a well with a viewing glass. Toilets were very clean and fresh. Thank you Andy and Heather, we will be back.

A great place to stay. Very friendly and a good stop over en route to my next location. The bar area was very relaxing and I enjoyed a well earned beer with homemade soup for my evening meal Good tip , I stayed in the back of the accommodation, this way you avoid the busy A37 traffic whizzing past all night. The budget single room was perfect for my needs, the shower was hot, the bed comfy, cosy sheets, great beer, good food, and a very friendly barman with great staff in the morning

Staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast is buffet style cereal or jam and toast. Dinner was nice, basic pub food. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Considering the location and what it is, I personally think the rooms are very over priced, saying that with how quiet the pub is on an evening, its probably the only way they can survive. The only fault really is there doesn't seem to be any sound proofing between the bedroom floor and pub ceiling. I could hear loud music and talking. The music in the bar actually wasn't that loud when in there, just seemed to amplify through the floor. Fortunately I had earplugs so didn't disturb my sleep.

If you are passing through, this is an excellent place to stay/dine for good value for money. The hotel staff provides good service. Overall, it is a relatively clean, modern place to stay compared to other local pubs. I'm sure there are hotels with more premium service but that's what you pay for. However, if you are looking for a (business) stopover then this is definitely worth considering in relation to other local pubs. I did not recognize myself in other more negative reviews.
